Tips for Decorating the Small Cabin Kitchen

By: Elly Kendall

Decorating the country cabin kitchen has got to be one of the most enjoyable rooms in a cabin to decorate. The kitchen is usually a favorite gathering place for friends and family, even small kitchens. If your cabin kitchen is on the small side, as many are, it can be a challenge as well.

Here are a few ideas to keep in mind when decorating small kitchens.

  • 1.) Keep your counters and surfaces clear as possible.
  • 2.)Using lighter colors to decorate makes your space look larger.
  • 3.) Avoid hanging pot racks and other low hanging décor.
  • 4.)If you have a window in your kitchen, let the light in! Opt for a valance instead of a full curtain.
  • 5.) For cabinets that don't go all the way to the ceiling place collectables on top of the cabinets or even add a shelf above them. This will extend the height of the ceiling.
  • 6.)Have a stool or two for guests to sit and visit yet are out of your way while you cook and prepare.

Keep these simple tips in mind when you decorate your country cabin kitchen to make the most of your small space. Remember small just means cozy!
